some of my Dogs

Postby apmcgee » Sun Mar 24, 2013 4:38 pm

Some of these are old, so might have been seen before by some. I am trying to get a lot of my new ones downsized to load to this site. I have quite a few of the dogs on hogs but a little too much for my peace of mind. My dogs all catch, I like them that way, some like a good bay and walk in with a catch dog but for me I put 5 or six down at a time, usually two Plotts and either the Airedales or a mix of Airedales, Jagd and my Stag. The Staghound is 1/2 of some kind of staghound with a lot of Deerhound, then 1/3 Pit and 1/4 Airedale. Where we hunt there's usually a lot of water and I want a dog that will do his best and put teeth in a running hog and make him turn. They do a good job, all are about 2 1/2 years old. One of my Airedales is brother to Devins Airedale. My current pack of dogs consists of 4 Plotts, Ursus and Whitedeer breeding. 1 Jagd, Dixielnd/Cumberland Pack, the Staghound came from Rob Craver over on the Hole Dog site, My Airedales are basically Henry Johnson's line (sandhill) down through the years, I have one slick, she's a three legged dog now thanks to a dumb sob, but she is hunting again and doing great, my male is same breeding as Devin's. I have a couple Curs, PlottXBlackmouth
I'm planning on breeding my slick AD to my Jagd in a few months as they both are excellent locater dogs and they both use their brains. The Jagd is the only one I have left out of the three I started with and I been trying to get another to breed to that I like prefably from Dixieland background if any one knows of a good one. Anyway I like the guys that are on here some I don't know yet but looking forward to meeting the rest.

I know Henry Johnson. Believe it or not, he's still alive. He used to write for Full Cry magazine Rev Stansberry is still going strong also, Mt View. He was breeding the same time as Gorden Moore. ( For those who do not know, these men put Adt's on the map as hunters. Anyone know Ardel Crawl. He used to hunt all over Az,(with my mentor Frank Minter, 40 something years ago) and retired to ND and runs a scent and lure shop up there

No she came from Virgina, She has Sandhill blood and I am sending her sis to Matt this summer to breed to Henry's AD Jingo, or going out myself. Henry may ride out with me, he and Matt are looking into buying a place together in Southern Colorado and I told him I would drive him out to look it over. What lines do your dogs come out of?
